Teresa Peters is an artist and filmmaker based in Tamaki Makaurau, currently working in clay and ceramics, photography and moving image. She is interested in bodies, earth bodies, forming and transforming. Chemical compounds and molten entities, in intimate combustion. ‘Excavating’ primordial totems’, as we move on into the sixth mass extinction. Ceramics is alchemy. Earth, water, air… fire...

 QUARTZ SOUND JOURNEY AUG 6
5-7pm @ AUDIO FOUNDATION

CHERYL FARTHING, TORBEN TILLY & TERESA PETERS

Please join us for a deep listening Quartz Sound Journey with Cheryl Farthing playing an arrangement of sound healing instruments including crystal quartz singing bowls alongside Torben Tilly’s live electronic score, activating Teresa Peters’ clay based moving-image installation and participants alike in a transformative collective experience.

“…Spinning chthonic bodies into audio-visual spheres to create patterns of shifting moments of connection and discordance…Teresa Peters, Torben Tilly and Cheryl Farthing investigate a crystalline inter-connectedness—between the material qualities of sound, the digital, moving image, and object that manifests as an act of ‘placing-into-vibration’….”

This special event takes place in conjunction with the exhibition, ORB: PLACING INTO VIBRATION, by Teresa Peters, Torben Tilly and Cheryl Farthing.
